Triangle Complex Fire, also known as the Freeway Complex Fire or Corona Fire, began 9:01 AM PDT November 15, 2008 along the 91 freeway in the riverbed of the Santa Ana River located in Corona, California. The fire spread west and north into the hillsides of Yorba Linda and south into Anaheim Hills, where multiple businesses and residences were destroyed. It also burned homes in Olinda Ranch along Carbon Canyon Road in Brea. Over 150 homes and apartments were damaged or destroyed and over 10,000 acres (4,000 ha) were burned. About 40,000 people have been evacuated.
Preceding this fire was an outbreak to the northwest, the Sayre Fire in Sylmar(November 14). Both were preceded by an apparently unrelated fire along the Pacific Coast , the Tea Fire in Santa Barbara and Montecito (November 13).
The Triangle Complex Fire forced the closure of the 91 Riverside Freeway, The 71 Expressway, 241 Transportation Corridor. The Brea fire temporarily closed the Orange Freeway, highway 57 north of Orange County.
