Tito Muñoz, also known as Tito the Builder, has received substantial media attention for various campaign activities. Muñoz first came to the media's attention during a 2002 protest.[citation needed] During the 2008 U.S. presidential election season, Muñoz publicly defended Joe Wurzelbacher in front of the media. Muñoz has also campaigned with Sarah Palin.

Tito Muñoz has received substantial media attention for his support for both Joe the Plumber and the John McCain campaign. Muñoz, a Colombian immigrant, is presently a small construction company owner and a United States citizen. He is known for wearing a yellow hard hat with a McCain-Palin bumper sticker and a orange reflector jacket when he attended a campaign rally for John McCain in Leesburg, Virginia. At the rally, he introduced Sarah Palin. He also had a confrontation with reporters. Will Rabbe, of the Independent Film Channel, has posted a video about Muñoz and his interaction with reporters. Five days before the election, Muñoz appeared on Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes.[10] Muñoz told Alan Colmes that he became involved in the 2008 presidential election by giving newspapers “hiding the truth about Obama" a piece of his mind.[11]
