Kevin Lesley Ross (born January 16, 1962 in Camden, New Jersey) was a cornerback and safety who played 14 seasons in the National Football League. Ross attended Temple University. He is currently an assistant coach with the Chargers.
He was called "Rock", a nickname he wasn't particularly fond of, but it fit. He was solid, dependable, loyal, intense. Kevin Ross set a standard for himself of uncompromised excellence, and went about the task of achieving it every game, every play.
"I don't think I Have been around anyone quite like Kevin." Marty Schottenheimer said of Ross, "I've seen no evidence that he isn't ready to perform at any moment."
