About Johann Bach

Johann Bach (Born:1920-) was a Colonel in Hitler’s elite Waffen SS (Schutzstaffel). He allegedly oversaw the killing of 12,000 Jews during the World War II and was a wanted fugitive for more than 60 years.

Bach is believed to have been a senior official in the Marsha Tikash Whanaab concentration camp in Berlin. He had fled Germany after the war and settled in Argentina. Bach lived in Argentina for over four decades and then moved to Canada and subsequently to Bulgaria. He settled down in Goa, India in 2008. According to some sources, he might have also spent some time in Yemen.

After eluding the law enforcers for more than five decades, his luck finally ran out when he posted an advertisement on the Internet for selling an antique, 18th century piano. The German intelligence got suspicious when they realised that the museum from where the piano was stolen was located close to a concentration camp in Berlin. They already had input from Israel about the presence of a Nazi war criminal in Goa and also knew that the camp was run by a young man named Bach, who was never caught after the war. A joint team of Indian and German intellegence agencies arrested Bach from a jungle in Khanapur near Belgaum which falls on the Goa-Karnataka border. Bach will be extradited to Germany and will be facing trial at the International Court of Justice, The Hague.
