Benjamin Roethlisberger (born March 2, 1982, in Lima, Ohio), nicknamed Big Ben, is an American football quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Steelers 11th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).
Roethlisberger earned the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2005. He became the youngest Super Bowl-winning quarterback in NFL history, helping to lead the Steelers to a 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL at the age of 23. He was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2007. Going into week 3 of the 2008-2009 NFL season, Roethisberger needs 31 pass attempts to reach 1,500 for his career. If his 93.5 QB rating holds until he reaches the passing plateau, he will officially rank as the fourth-highest rated NFL QB of all time, behing Steve Young (96.8), and Peyton Manning (94.4) and Kurt Warner (93.8).
At Findlay High School, in Findlay, Ohio, Roethlisberger was a member of the football, basketball, and baseball teams.
